Above: Speaking to a full house at my first tour stop, The Writer’s Block! Thank you Las Vegas!
The CSA Cookbook Road Trip has officially begun! With my first talk wrapped up, I’m now making my way through the Southwest and eventually the South (looking at you, Denver and Austin!)… and I cannot wait to meet all my readers in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and New York in the next couple of weeks! Bring your friends and come with questions on all things cooking, gardening, or chicken-keeping!
Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 7 pm – Asheville, NC
Villagers
I’ve been wanting to visit Asheville for the longest time and am so excited to give a book talk and Q&A at this gorgeous farm and garden shop. Come out for a conversation about no-waste, top-to-tail, farm-to-table cooking! Books will be available for purchase.
Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11 am – Chambersburg, PA
North Square Farmers Market (in conjunction with Fulton Farm at Wilson College)
It’s going to be a beautiful day in South Central Pennsylvania! I’ll be hanging out at this lively farmers’ market for a meet-and-greet and book signing at the Fulton Farm stand. This is a casual, unstructured event, so come with any curiosities you’d like answered! Books will be available for purchase.
Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 3 pm – New York City, NY
Urban Garden Center
Manhattan’s largest garden center is an oasis for urban gardeners. Get outside, get inspired, and join me under the train tracks for a book talk and book signing. Come with your questions about farm-to-table cooking, edible gardening, or chicken-keeping! Books will be available for purchase.
To see where else I’m headed on my book tour this spring, check the Events page. The details for several events are still being worked out, but I’ll post more information as they finalize. I’ll also be adding a few west coast stops shortly! And if you want to follow along on The CSA Cookbook Road Trip, I made a fun interactive map on Roadtrippers of our tentative route. I imagine we’ll be making plenty of turns off the beaten track, but if there’s a particular place I should stop and see along the way, or a detour you think I’d like of some scenic, strange, or beautiful sight near you, please share!
The CSA Cookbook Road Trip on Roadtrippers!
I am especially excited to team up with Kia Motors USA on this adventure! They have generously offered to loan me a vehicle for the tour and I am thankful, thrilled, seriously stoked. For the journey, I’ll be putting the 2015 Kia Sedona MPV to the ultimate driving test. I’m talking national scenic byways, back roads, and farm roads… hundreds of hours on asphalt and gravel and probably a little dirt, too. I’ve never taken a Sedona on an adventure before (which Kia bills as a multi-purpose vehicle, mind you, not a minivan), so by the end of this book tour, we’ll see how it stacks up against an SUV.
Be sure to follow @gardenbetty on Instagram for daily updates and inspiration as I make my way across the country!

If you get a chance, check out the Biltmore Estate in Asheville. It won’t disappoint!
Someone else recommended that to me as well! I can’t wait to visit!

Have a great trip Linda! It was great to see you last week and I am excited to ‘come along’ on your book tour with you!
Lisa, I always have an awesome time with you! Love talking shop, competing in cutthroat blogger contests, and giggling over silliness. 😉 We make a great team! Good luck with the move and hopefully I’ll see you again at our next event together… Atlanta, perhaps?!
