Just click on the link from your phone or computer to log in to the call. No video camera or Google account is necessary.

My expertise is focused on starting seeds, growing edible plants outdoors, raising backyard chickens, and garden-to-table cooking. When you complete your garden intake form, I’ll confirm the topics you want to discuss so we can maximize your time.

While I try to help with all aspects of edible gardening, I have limited knowledge in hydroponics and indoor gardening systems (such as AeroGarden and Gardyn) and no experience with cannabis, commercial farming, or raising livestock.

Up to two follow-up emails are included with each phone consult. If you have more questions, simply schedule another Phone-a-Farmer time slot.

  • Almost quit because garden pests were taking over

I tried all kinds of sprays and was about to quit my garden because bugs would destroy everything before I could harvest. I had aphids swarming my fruit trees, leaves full of holes, seedlings all chewed up, everything. Linda helped me come up with a plan that not only got rid of most of the pests, it vastly improved the health of my garden. Thank you, Linda, for giving me the confidence to keep going!

  • Saved me so much time and money

I moved into a new home with a few raised beds in the backyard. The last owners had neglected the beds for a while so the soil was crusty and full of weeds. I didn’t know where to start. A friend connected me with Linda and she gave me tons of great advice for reviving the soil, which saved me so much time and money. She truly is a wizard when it comes to gardening organically and I love that my soil keeps getting better each season.

My standard fee covers all communities within 20 miles of Bend, including most areas of Redmond, Sunriver, and Three Rivers. Nope! When you complete your garden intake form, I’ll confirm the topics you want to discuss so we can maximize your time.

What I do: I thoroughly assess your site and give personalized guidance on designing, building, improving, or expanding your edible garden. This includes practical ideas and actionable tips for successful planting, drip irrigation, soil building, composting, season extension, organic pest management, and more. If you aren’t the DIY type, I can refer you to local contractors to get the work done.

What I DON’T do: I don’t provide landscape drawings, budget estimates, or site work or installation. (I’m not a landscape architect or landscape contractor.)

I can help with some aspects, particularly if you want to incorporate edible plants in an ornamental landscape. But ornamental/native plants, trees, and shrubs are not my forte. If you have landscaping needs beyond an edible garden, I recommend contacting Bend Pine Nursery (for all things trees and shrubs) or Wintercreek Nursery (for questions about native plants).

Up to two follow-up emails are included with each on-site consult. If you have more questions, simply schedule another on-site consult or a Phone-a-Farmer consult.
