The book. It’s been on my brain (and in my belly) a lot… for the last 12 months. It’s like an extra long gestation period and come next February, I’ll finally be able to meet my book baby!
It still seems a long way off to everybody but me. And while it might appear that my journey will be “complete” by the time the book is released, the next part of the journey is really just beginning. This is the time when I start thinking about publicity, book parties (!) and book signings, and I am so, so excited to tour the country, spread the message of good food to good people, and put some faces to the names I’ve always seen online.

There is nothing I love more (aside from cooking and gardening, of course) than exploring new places and meeting new people, and I can’t wait to hear your ideas on where I should go and what I should do. I am currently planning a few events for next spring and hope to include a variety of book signings, talks, classes, and demos, and maybe share a few farm-to-table meals with you all!
Thank you for the daily love and support and for spreading the word about my book. I continue to be stunned and thrilled and humbled with every person telling me he or she just preordered a copy.
Your constant encouragement (since Day One!) and loyal readership are what keep me going, and I can’t wait to set off on this next adventure together. Crossing my fingers that I get to meet many of you for the first time as I make my way around the country next year!

Morgan Hill California! We’re a smaller semi-agricultural community about 15 minutes south of San Jose. We have several year round downtown festivals, I’ll have to check and see what’s coming up.

I’d love to have you visit my western suburb of Chicago. We have a great farmers market in the summer (some who have a CSA program). Our high school also does a once a month “farm to fork” program. Enjoy your tour!

If Seattle is on your radar, Vancouver BC is only a couple hours north! We would absolutely LOVE to have you here, and There are multiple places that could host you! The CSA movement is really popular up here, and I know you’ll be very warmly received. Hope you can make it a possibility, id be thrilled to see you here!

That’s actually a photo of a map I have on my wall, pinned with places I’ve already been. 🙂 But I plan to make at least one stop in TX, and Dallas seems to be a popular one so far! I’ll look into it and see if it’s possible, thanks for your suggestion!

Come to Seattle! There is a great community cookbook store called Book Larder that hosts cookbook authors, chefs, etc. It would be the perfect spot for you to come share your new book, cook, and meet those of us in the northwest that love your blog!

We would love to have a book signing in Dallas, Texas at our new 1 acre garden. A garden for teaching WaterWise practices and teaching children about gardening and composting, worms, butterflies, and growing their own veggies. We have indoor kitchen space, too, for a class with you as our featured speaker. Garden Betty, I think you would love Dallas, Texas and I know we would love hosting you!

I just pre-ordered your book. I am so excited. I belong to Central City Co-op in Houston and get my farm share from Gunderman’s farm about 70 miles southwest of me. It is a challenge to figure out what to do with the weekly bounty. I make a lot of soup : ) I also grow some herbs and veggies here at home. There many farmers markets in Houston many hosted by Urban Harvest a local organization that helps people learn about organic gardening. There are many great nurseries that host talks that are well attended. One is Buchanan’s Native Plants in Houston the other is Arbor Gate in Tomball. Would love to see you come to Houston it is a big venue with a lot of local flavor : )

Hershey Pa…yes, chocolate town. We have a few festivals in Lebanon Pa. Our CSA is Spiral Path. We are about 60-90 minutes from Philadelphia but come to our area. We are known for our Pa Dutch cooking. We have a large Amish population. Our cooking is diverse. Canning and “putting up” is a way of life here.
Please come see us. We have lot’s of local color.

I live in West Boylston, MA. I belong to New Lands Farm CSA which supports refugees and immigrant farmers who are in desperate need of jobs. This area is a “right to farm” community. 🙂
